Our family owned and operated landscaping business is spearheaded by Wesley L. Moody. Wesley, a native Adirondacker, is the great-great grandson of Jacob Moody, founder and first settler of Saranac Lake. Wesley is the "landscape artist" of our organization. He envisions the master plans which are then carried out by the hands of our energetic family and crew. Wesley's "plans" are never computer generated, each is exclusive to the particular site.
Wesley's daughter Jacquelyn and her husband Patrick are an integral part of the business along with step-son Patrick. The two Patrick's, who do most of the "boulder" work; staircases, walls, waterfalls and ponds, are equally hardworking and talented. Jacquelyn heads up the planting crews with her right hand woman Shanara. Matt, our almost family, does most of the excavation work; while Brett does most of the trucking.
Our office is run by Wesley's wife Deborah, who acts as company "mom", even to crew members that are not actually related. In addition Deb does specialty annual & perennial plantings for many local Adirondack camps. Deb has also created a large following for her hand tied wreaths, garlands, swags, and other balsam products with an Adirondack flair. She based her Christmas shop on a seasonal basis in Lake Placid for many years. In addition to hand tied wreaths, garlands and other balsam products, Deb sells fresh cut christmas trees, Adirondack style ornaments as well as other balsam products.
With the Moody's recent purchase of the Asplin Tree Farm property in Gabriels, NY we will be expanding our Christmas business. Although we will continue the seasonal Christmas Store in Lake Placid, we will also have a full fledged Christmas Shop at the Tree Farm along with "Choose and Cut" your own holiday / christmas trees. Check out our Christmas page on this web site for more information.
Although family and staff are our truest assets, Wesley Moody Inc. has state of the art equipment and an impeccable fleet of vehicles. Our equipment is environmentally friendly allowing us to carry out work in wooded areas with minimal damage to the valuable existing plant life. The Wesley Moody, Inc. mission statement is: "to cleverly restore the woodlands impacted by construction while affording the homeowner useable outdoor space."
