Wesley Moody, Inc. is a family owned and operated landscaping business located in Saranac Lake, NY; near Lake Placid, Tupper Lake and Upper Saranac Lake. Wesley Moody and his wife Deborah Dupree have been in the landscaping business together for nearly 30 yrs. Wesley, the great-great grandson of Saranac Lake's founder and first settler Jacob Moody, has been in the landscaping business for more years than he would like mentioned. Wesley is the "landscape artist" of the organization. He envisions the master plans which are then carried out by son-in-law Patrick with the help of their seasoned and energetic crews. Wesley's "plans" are never computer generated; each is exclusive to the particular site and needs of the owner.
Deborah admits to being an Adirondack transplant from New York City (Queens). After graduating from Paul Smiths College, she decided the Adirondacks were home. In addition to running the landscape office, Deb does specialty annual and perennial plantings for many local Adirondack camps. Once falls rolls around, gears shift toward the Christmas season. The Moody's run a choose and cut Christmas tree operation and Christmas store at their tree farm. Deb, along with long time assistant Jessie, has created a large following for their hand tied wreaths, garland, swags and other balsam creations with an Adirondack flair. Together with family members and employees that have been with them for many, many years; Wes and Deb are fortunate enough to get up every day and go to work doing something they love. Wes often quotes his grandfather, Milo M Moody "the difficult we do right away, the impossible takes a little longer". Apparently his grandfather's version of a WWII motto from the Army Corps of Engineers; Wesley has always stood by the slogan and greets all landscaping challenges with a similar passion.
Although family and staff are their truest assets, Wesley Moody, Inc. is equipped with state of the art equipment including three barges and an impeccable fleet of vehicles. Their equipment is environmentally friendly allowing work to be carried out in wooded areas with minimal damage to the valuable existing plant life. It is worth noting that the Wesley Moody, Inc. Mission Statement is "to cleverly restore the woodlands impacted by construction while affording the homeowner useable outdoor space."
